No to AI Art

I used to support AI art when I first heard about it, but after doing my research and seeing the catastrophic effects AI art has caused in the artist community, I can no longer support it with a good conscience.

I have no issue with people using AI art for fun/experimentation, nor for references. However, I cannot accept people blatantly profiting off of AI art or claiming it as their own, when it is clearly derivative, and threatens to leave millions of already struggling artists without work (for the benefit of greedy elites and large soulless corporations who only care about the bottom line, and enriching themselves). AI art is glorified theft and enables scamming, and I hope it goes down in flames just like what happened with crypto.

The creative arts long separated humanity from machines, and existed as repositories of human culture, beauty, and meaning. AI threatens to destroy all of that, to take away the one thing that makes humans human. A world without art, without beauty, without culture, is an intolerable, mechanical world, one devoid of meaning and humanity. If AI does everything for us faster and better, where will that leave humans?

Art must remain the province of humanity, the property of humanity. Rise up against the Machine. Do not yield. Resist technological displacement.
